Even though our church received national notoriety from this series, we just thank God that for 87 people eternity is forever changed!
What an incredible weekend we had! In four services we saw 87 people accept Christ and between 1400 to 1500 people. We are going to hold baptism services throughout the month of October and pray for a total of 100 baptisms by the end of the month! It was an awesome weekend!
I can’t wait to see what the Lord is going to do in the lives and marriages of the people at The Gathering through our series Red Hot Sex…
(if you happened to see the story on CNN they had one thing incorrect, it was not our members that were upset…)

I love it , last night my wife calls me in the bedroom where she was watching the news to show me this report here in south florida . I have been laughing ever sense. My wife says you need a word of encouragement, She says I better not say anythig mean. I said are you kidding your loving this. At least they are talking about you!! Weve been doing sex series in south florida for 15 years like that. they dont hardly get noticed. once in a while.

Dear Pastor Gene: I am so glad I searched for your website…After seeing the video on CNN internet news I wasn’t quit sure what to think. Praise God you have seen the need to address these issues. As a Clinical Pastoral Chaplain I see so many lives being destroyed, families being destroyed, churches being destroyed by ‘perverted sex issues.’ My own marriage was almost destroyed by pornography…Praise God you have had the courage to go down this path and bring God’s truth and light to those who are trapped…and those who are going through deep despair when they find out their marriage has been betrayed. I pray God will use you to bring His love and truth, deliverence …and healing to a wounded world in this area. God bless you, your wife and family and your church… CNN did make it sound like your church family was upset by this teaching…I praise God they have trust in the Lord and trust in the ‘man of God’ the Lord sent them… In His Grace, Chaplain Judi

I’m a pastor in Texas. Saw the CNN thing and your site address, decided to check it out. Great series! Great news about people coming to Christ. I pray that God continues to bless the series and His work at The Gathering.

Well sadly I couldn’t make it for the first part of the series this week but it was really surprising going on CNN.com today and actually just seeing on the front page of the website…can’t really go through life w/o offending any one at all no matter how hard one tries but sounds like the end result was a really positive one!

Pastor, it is awesome to see God work and honor obedience. It is a shame that the media most likely will not cover a more important story: 87 lives being eternally changed by being brought under the power of the blood of Jesus Christ. We love you and are very proud of you for standing up to the world this week and preaching the truth in love. Z.

87 LIVES CHANGED!! Its amazing to see what God is doing through our church. I continue to pray for protection and strength for you and your family. I count it a blessing to be a part of a church that is more concerned with salvation for the lost than what is popular. It may not be easy, but its worth it!!

Pastor Gene, We are so thankful to be a part of what God is doing at the Gathering!!!!!! We pray over the flyers each time before we send them out, Wow our prayers were answered!!!
87 people are off the road to hell. Now if we could only get the newspaper to do a story about that!!!!!!!!!!! Keep on doing what God insturcts you to do. We are behind you 100%.

I say it every Weekend. I pastor the GREATEST People in the World!! You know what blows my mind most people that visit us the very first time at the Gathering say, “I found my church”.
Why? Because of people like all of you.

It’s so great what you’re doing! 87 lives were changed! That’s what’s important, not how you got there! God doesn’t care whether you use racy post cards or whatever, He just cares that you got 87 decisions for Christ! Great!
I’m anxious to see where you push the envelope next! Let me know when the “strippers in church” arrive…we’ll really get some salvations then!
