Jay Williams, a beloved church member, passed away this morning at his home.
Jay was a great man of God and served our church with incredible faithfulness. He was passionately dedicated to The Gathering and The Lord’s Child. He loved being at the church and serving whenever and wherever needed. The Gathering family was Jay’s family. Along with many others in our congregation Pastor David Zavona and his wife, Missie, were especially close to Jay and will miss him considerably. Please keep them in your prayers over the next few days as they prepare for the funeral and mourn the loss of a true friend.
To all of our wonderful church family that has taken Jay meals this week after his heart surgery, THANK YOU. The Gathering would not be the family it is apart from us caring for one another like we do. I am honored to be called your Pastor and I believe Jay was honored to call you his family.
Funeral arrangements are being made and we will post details as soon as they are confirmed.

A few weeks ago we all started reading this book, You Were Born for This, by Bruce Wilkinson, the author of The Prayer of Jabez. This book has caused a much needed paradigm shift in how I view, not only God’s miracles, but also the part he allows me to play in them. It has caused me to look at others in a new way. It is so easy to get cynical and complacent in this world. But this book doesn’t just encourage you to reach out to those around you, it gets you excited about it. More than a renewed sense of excitement, I have found it has softened my heart and made me acutely aware of the pain others are enduring all around me.
This morning as I and another staff member checked out at a local restaurant, we chatted with the man at the cash register and within seconds he was at the verge of tears telling us about the brokenness he is experiencing as he walks through a divorce. He said he needs a miracle! And I am believing he will receive it. I have already received emails of others in our church that God is using in the lives of people that need to experience a miracle.

Today Karen came into my office and inform me that the Doctor WANTED to do another Mammogram because of a SPOT…
The Lord very clearly spoke to me and said, “Gene, TELL KAREN I said there is NO CANCER IN HER BODY”
WHEN I spoke it… She said, “I RECEIVE THAT WORD”
We went to the HOSPITAL and they RAN THREE, YES THREE MORE TEST in ONE HOUR…
WE CLAIMED the NAME OF JESUS n HIS POWER…
Finally the DR. give us the report that there IS NO CANCER AT ALL…
JESUS, JESUS, JESUS, JESUS… “HE KNOWS HIS NAME”
THIS IS AFTERWARDS OUTSIDE GIVING JESUS ALL THE GLORY…
THIS WAS BEFORE GETTING READY TO GO IN FOR THE TEST….

A few weeks ago we started passing out the “Miracles” wrist bands. This week we started reading the book, You Were Born for This, by Bruce Wilkinson. This book offers a much needed paradigm shift. These two things are already having an impact on the community. Today Pastor Warren Broomer shared with the staff about a divine encounter he had this week and I would love to share it with you…
When Pastor Warren was getting in his car to leave a local business he realized his car would not start. As he got out to check under the hood a man walked up and asked if he could help. Pastor Warren told him the car battery was dead. The man then took the battery off of his own car, put it in Pastor Warren’s and told him to use it to drive to the auto parts store to buy a new one. When Pastor Warren returned to give the man his battery back he also gave the man one of his “Miracles” wrist bands. As he gave this man his wrist band he asked him, “Do you need a miracle?” to which the man replied, “Yes, I need to know if I can go to heaven.” Pastor Warren then had the opportunity to lead this man to the Lord!!!
This is only the beginning. I can’t wait to hear the Miracles God is allowing you to be a part of!
This man was invited to church BY A MAN THAT CAME FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST WEEK……..
THAT PUMPS ME UP… We are trying to BREAK our all time GUEST RECORD IN THE NEXT 4 WEEKS…
This man has not been to CHURCH in three YEARS… I HUG him and SAID, “WELCOME HOME BROTHER”
