Chuck Van Hook, Jr. High Director @ The Gathering
Behind the long locks of Samson and the grungy pants of a laborer beats a heart of pure gold. For days now, Chuck and other have literally wallowed in the mud, helping Howard with the massive task of irrigation in preparation for sod being laid at the new property. EVERYONE is physically worn out and weary from laboring. Do you see how the camera captured weariness in Chuck’s eyes?
I want to thank my staff for their positive attitudes. They have all gone above and beyond the call of duty in moving us from the old building to the new one. If you see one of the staff during the weekend services, go up to them and just say “Thanks for what you’re doing.”
I appreciate you, Chuck, as well as all the staff members and a multitude of volunteers. We’re doing more than finding leaks and toiling with irrigation. We’re stretching ourselves physically, mentally and emotionally, looking into the mirror set before us and viewing the reflection of ourselves under pressure. Yet we’re building memories and walking out our church’s history. These moments at the property are making the new facilities “YOUR CHURCH, MY CHURCH, OUR CHURCH!!!”
“Get some sleep, Chuck, there’s still more work to be done!”
P.S. Keep checking the blog for pictures of our staff and volunteers who are laboring to “make it all happen” in time for Easter.
