The TOP TEN things for which I am most GRATEFUL:

Posted on Monday 24 November 2008

  1. On October 5, 1968, I invited Jesus Christ into my life. Even as He left His throne in glory, took on the flesh of man and dwelt among men, He came to tabernacle within my heart on that day. Although I did not always obey Him as a teenager, I loved Him from my youth. As a 9-year-old boy I believed and accepted the call of GOD on my life
  2. On December 21st I will have been married to the most awesome woman on this planet for 23 Wonderful YEARS.
  3. That my GOD has entrusted me with the great privilege of raising two young men into MEN of GOD. (I need grace for this responsibility)
  4. I told my friends at dinner last night that my Dad and Mom taught me to fear and I will forever be thankful for that.
  5. YES, I do have one brother and two sisters who think I HUNG THE MOON, who greatly respect the anointing on my life and who have PUT UP WITH ME FOR 45 LONG YEARS. Time and time again, they have listened to all of my DREAMS and DESIRES and STILL BELIEVE in me. (They deserve better)
  6. I have had the HONOR to know some of the greatest men of God in this GENERATION. At a very young age, I had the privilege of preaching for them all across this nation. Just this morning, I told someone at breakfast,  ”Dr. Falwell was my hero.” I sat in his office six months before we started The GATHERING and he told me, “Gene, The Gathering will be a GREAT CHURCH!” And in a prophetic sense of the word, I do believe Dr. Falwell was correct.
  7.  On November 18, 1999 in Dallas, Texas, God called me into the pastoral ministry and allowed me to start a church. The LORD has not only changed the lives of those who attend The Gathering, but it has also changed my life. It is a labor of love for me to take the Bread of Life, break it into edible bites and feed His sheep. Furthermore, I have the honor of leading the greatest staff in the world and those words come from the depths of my heart.
  8. Over the last several years I have learned to hear His Voice and follow Him. It is the only way to live.
  9. For all of the WONDERFUL friends with whom I have enjoyed the fellowship of the LORD, I could never begin to mention all of your names; however, I love you and pray that the blessings of God flow richly through your lives and those in your household.
  10. And did I tell you that I love the LORD Jesus Christ? He has been the First and Last in my life, the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and End, the Two Bookends of my existence. Because I started with Him Who is Holy, I want to end with Him Who is Faithful, Who has been my Counselor, my Everlasting Father and a Friend Who sticks closer to me than a brother. And if you know about Him, but do not know Him, then I pray I can introduce you to Him for He alone is worthy of our praise and worship.

I LOVE My Small Group!

Posted on Monday 17 November 2008

For those of you not yet connected in a Small Group you are missing out on some great fellowship! Karen and I have enjoyed our Small Group so much. As we head towards our Chest of Joash service on December 6th and 7th,  we have been discussing what each of us is going to pray for this year. Our group wants to make sure that we are praying for the right thing not just anything.

King Solomon asked for the right thing and God gave him everything! When we bring our sacrificial gifts to the chest this year we are all seeking God, and searching our own hearts, so that we can come with pure motives in our request.

  Great Sacrifice=Great Attention=A Humble Request=Your Miracle!

I am praying for faith to rise up in everyone at The Gathering as we prepare to turn in our pledges over the next two weekends for The Great Investment! Remember, there is no timeline to fulfill your pledge. That is between you and God!

Join Karen and I as we PRAY…

Posted on Wednesday 5 November 2008

1 Timothy 2:1-3 ( CEV ) 1First of all, I ask you to pray for everyone. Ask God to help and bless them all, and tell God how thankful you are for each of them.  2Pray for kings and others in power, so that we may live quiet and peaceful lives as we worship and honor God.  3This kind of prayer is good, and it pleases God our Savior.

Let’s Pray for all our Leaders!!

God Raises up Kings and all of those in Authority… (Word of God)
