Sunday Night Mind Dump!!

Posted on Sunday 24 February 2008

Man, what a week! I have been to C3 at Fellowship Church in Dallas and had a great time! I reconnected with many old friends and made some new ones. The preaching was out of this world. Bishop T. D. Jakes may very well be the greatest preacher alive on this planet. What anointing!  If I had one thing to say to any young preacher it would be to saturate your mind with the Word of God. It has the power to change your life and take your preaching to another level. You will go nowhere without IT!! When Bishop Jakes preaches, the Word just flows from him like rivers of living water, it was beautiful. This year I will celebrate my 45th birthday in July and the longer I live I long to know MORE of His Word.

“Heaven and Earth will pass away but My word will never”

We had an unbelievable weekend at church. I am absolutely convinced that The Gathering IS experiencing REVIVAL. Let me encourage every single one of you to please take advantage of the FREE New Living Translation Life Application Bible and the Free New Prayer Journal. We will place the order at some point this week.  Don’t miss out on this great gift so that your walk will go to a whole nother (My Word) level.

Let me share with you right now that you will not want to miss EASTER; mark it on your calendar. We will not only celebrate our Lord’s ressurection; we will celebrate the great victory our church has of EXPOSING our county to the Less Fortunate in our community.

Again, I believe that I am pastoring the greatest set of people in this entire world.

Love ya

Going to Five!!

Posted on Tuesday 19 February 2008

Very Interesting Thought:

If the world were a village of 100 people, 67 of those people would not know the good news and grace of Jesus Christ. If the world were a village of 100 people, 20 of those people would live on less than one dollar a day. The mission of Jesus is to change all that!

What a Mission! Let me encourage everyone to attend one of our two Saturday services. If you can’t make the Saturday due to other obligations don’t forget to help us with the early Sunday morning. Remember we will build this church one family at a time. There is an old saying, “We must have Pews, Parking and Pre-School,” for the church to grow. Let me encourage you to invite a friend, remember there are 64,000 people in our county that do not attend church on any given weekend.

It did not take long for the Lord to fill up four services, I’m wondering how long it will take Him to fill up five services.

Here are the times:

Saturday 5:00 & 6:30

Sunday 9:00, 10:30, 12:00

Please Invite a Friend, the cause is still great.

Holiness/ The Prize (4 of 4)

Posted on Friday 15 February 2008

As I end this series on Holiness, I felt it was vital that we all understand the importance of living a life of holiness. Jesus said “whoever does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:27) He went on to talk about “counting the cost.” Apart from Christ we can do nothing! Below is a list of some of the benefits of finishing the race.

1. Eternal Life>Rom. 6:23

2. No More Pain or Sorrow>Rev. 21:4

3. Total Understanding/ Knowledge>1Cor.13:12

4. A Crown of Righteousness>2Tim.4:8

5. See God Face to Face>1John 3:2

6. A Crown of Life>James 1:12 (NLT)

7. A Brand New Body>1Cor. 15:41-44

I don’t know about you but the future is looking pretty good after all!

Amazing!!!

Posted on Monday 11 February 2008

All I can say is to those in our Church Family who are not in a small group is: YOU ARE MISSING OUT BIG TIME!!

Karen and I for several years now have opened our home and hosted a small group and last night it was AMAZING. The journey that our small group is on is a big WOW!! We are all fasting and believing God for 19 supernatural Miracles. Let me encourage everyone of you to find a small group. If you do not like the first one then at least date around. Life is way too short to walk alone. Man, what we heard last night, in our living room, about our friendships and our children and the journey that some of them are walking through - it was HOLY. Karen and I, technically, have two groups: One that we are walking in Covenant with and the other is our regular small group. Last night was our Covenant Group - it was soo good. Chuck Laney, who is building our new church facility, spoke of how he is spending time in the Word of God and what it is doing for him personally and his family. Chuck, I am super proud of you!!

Please Get in a Small Group.

The Mexican Food and the Banana Pudding was worth it all.

Holiness/ The Finish Line (3 of 4)

Posted on Thursday 7 February 2008

Many people ask the question, “How can I make it to the finish line with all the obstacles that life throws in my path?” Well, the Apostle Paul said it best. Paul was coming to the end of his life and he said three things that we all need to practice in our own lives. He said;”I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Tim. 4:7

Whatever you do, never give up! We must continue to have faith in a holy God that loves us and has empowered us to finish the race.

And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished… Phil. 1:6

God is so good!

The finish line is only the end of the race. What happens after the race is over is where the real excitment begins.

Sunday Night Mind Dump!!

Posted on Sunday 3 February 2008

Wow!! What a spirit of hunger we are experiencing at The Gathering. You can see it . You can hear it. You can feel it. The staff is so thirsty for a genuine move of God. I have never been more proud of our volunteer base, you guys are the best. I remember the days when we would set up church out of the trailer. I am so privilege to be your pastor. We had scores of guest this week. I have told the staff how exciting it is to hear about the people of The Gathering being so fired up about serving God. It want be long and we are going to share some very exciting news, all I can say is you will not want to miss one of the Five Easter Services.

If we can pull it off there might be Eight Easter Services. (Yes Eight) Do not miss a single weekend.

I really enjoy church this weekend again the spirit of our people and the unity that we are seeing is absolutely remarkable. Also this journey with Simon Peter is it not going to be a total blast. If you where not able to be there this week you can listen on the podcast and in the next several weeks you will even be able to watch it. All I can say is please continue to walk with ole Simon as he become this new man called Peter. Make sure you are one of those that sign the wall.
