We were very blessed this past week to have the opportunity to receive a $50,000.00 offering to send off and help 7000 orphans. That’s 7000 children that are homeless and have no mother or father to raise and take care of them.

What an honor it was to pray over the check and release it into the Kingdom of God.

There is a FRESH WIND blowing over The Gathering Church. A NEW ERA has begun in the life of our church family. People are beginning to see that WHEN WE PRAY, God will move and HEAL their land and RESTORE!

At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or command grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. My eyes will be open and my ears attentive to every prayer made in this place.

2 Chronicles 7:13-15

There is no doubt that God has heard our prayers and is MOVING IN A NEW & FRESH WAY at The Gathering! Summer is coming to an end and vacations are almost over. We have settled into some great teaching AND PRAYER on Wednesday nights as well as ENERGETIC church services on Sunday!

I’m compelled (and humbled) to say that if you are not attending church on a regular basis on Sundays then we WELCOME you to The Gathering. Be a part of something greater than yourself!!

Dr. Ron Herrod will be speaking at The Gathering’s Wednesday Night PRAYER throughout the month of August. Dr. Herrod will be taking us through the remarkable book of Revelation. You do NOT want to miss hearing this great speaker!

Ron Herrod began the Ron Herrod Evangelism Ministries Association in 1995, following 36 years as Senior Pastor of some of America’s largest and fastest growing churches. His ministry has included national television, crusades and mission projects in more than 30 countries, an international tape ministry, and the writing of seven books. A major focus of R.H.E.M.A. is the R.H.E.M.A. Institute, which trains national pastors and church leaders in developing countries for effective church planting and leadership.

A few weeks ago, my husband and I were vacationing/visiting my sister in the Sevierville area (June 13-25).  My sister had just purchased a home and her real estate agent recommended the Gathering.

On the Sunday that we were in attendance, your pastor preached on the power of prayer. He then had the congregation come forward to write the names of lost souls on the walls of the church (pretty radical!).  My husband and I went forward to write the names that God had placed on our hearts.  One name in particular came to my mind.  This was the name of a young man that seemed rather “hopeless” as he was always very “sarcastic/mocking” when I spoke of the Bible or God.  He was very hardened after spending five years in prison for selling drugs.  I had a connection with him because he became the stepfather of a little boy I taught in my kindergarten class (he was very sweet to this little boy so I knew he had a heart!).

The following Wednesday night we returned to participate in the prayer revival service.  The entire congregation walked around the church praying for all of the names on the walls.  This took place around 8:30 – 9:00 pm in TN.  The exact same time in FL this man, his wife, stepson and newborn baby girl were taking their nightly walk.  He turned to his wife and said, “I need Jesus, I need to get saved and go to church! I’m serious!”
Praise God, no one is hopeless!  God bless you pastor and Gathering congregation as you continue to pray for the lost in our nation and the nations of the world.

PS – This gentleman is involved in the beach clean-up in the gulf coast.  Please pray that he will be surrounded by Christian mentors as he is away from his family.

Also, the Christian school that I work for is committed to one hour of collective prayer a week in response to your call.

My sister & her family (newly moved to the area from Chas., SC - visited last week 7/4/10).  They enjoyed the service and the congregation was very welcoming.  They plan to visit tonight – 7/7/10 and are very excited that the Lord is leading them here.

Dr. Tim Lee will be back again as well and it will be a powerful night of teaching and PRAYER.

The Isaacs are a family group that has traveled for over 30 years. Lily Isaacs, Ben Isaacs, Sonya Isaacs, Rebecca Isaacs Bowman, and John Bowman have a unique style of bluegrass harmonies and instrumentation with modern Southern Gospel lyrics. They perform with the Gaither’s, at the Grand Ole Opry, and many other venues and events.

Since 1976 God has given Jamey the opportunity to share the message of Jesus Christ through song and sharing God’s word across the country and around the world.  Jamey has served both as a youth pastor and senior pastor.  He has traveled extensively speaking in churches, at youth camps, university campuses, football stadiums, school assemblies, conferences, in home Bible studies, corporate meetings, and Reach the Planet Crusades.  Jamey was humbled at the opportunity to travel to Japan and share the gospel with the United States Navy.

We look forward to having Jamey back again at The Gathering!
